Re-Bath of Arkansas: Bathtub Safety

Here at ReBath of Arkansas, we love remodeling bathrooms! Bathtub replacements are part of that process depending on personal preferences. So many love to have a bathtub to soak in at the end of a long hard day, or love it for the kids during bath time.

Since it's National Safety Month, we feel it's also our job to encourage those with bathtubs and children to develop safe practices and habits. The following is from a recent statistic from Injury Facts, 2015 reported by the NSC.

"Drowning is the leading cause of death in children ages 1 to 4 and is the second leading cause of death for children 5-14. Most drowning or near-drowning incidents happen when a child is left alone in the bathtub."

As a father myself, I feel it's extremely important to take care and look out for my children any way that I can. So, I urge you to develop these practices as well:

  • Always watch your child in the bathtub.
  • Gather everything the child needs beforehand so you won't have to leave them.
  • Become certified in First Aid and CPR in case something does happen.
  • Empty the bathtub immediately after use.
